Well, I got a note back from the author of iBlog and he suggested I use ncftp (which he gave me a download link for), because iBlog uses the "curl" command to upload entries to the FTP site if it can't find ncftp and for some reason, "curl" just doesn't always behave nicely. I downloaded it with very little hope since my uploads seemed to always work before. I was pretty sure the ncftp would not help. Surpise,... it did!!!
Unfortunately, I now have a test page showing instead of my regular stuff because I had deleted everything in an attempt to start over and clean (not to totally be concerned, I had backed up all previous content).;) My dilemma is how do I put the old stuff back. It's not just a matter of putting old stuff in the FTP site, the references would not connect. I suspect I'm going to have to upload them individually.
Meanwhile, I had been looking for alternatives and came across Typepad. It's a product made by the same people that make Moveable Type except it costs money (very reasonable, though). The basic package comes with 50 megs and no hassle with perl or other stuff. Also seems fairly customizable. I think I may try it out since they offer a 30 day free trial period.
What's the difference between that and Blogger. Not sure, though judging by the info on their pages, it looks like it offers more customization for the the price. I could be wrong about that, though.
